During my 7 years teaching music to all age groups including adults, I have had the privilege to meet many precious children and adults, among whom there were some who had trouble with the standard music education and who still wanted to learn to play the piano or sing the song of their heart.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

These lovely children showed behaviors associated with Autism, ADD or ADHD, Dyslexia, Physical disabilities \u2013 otherwise known as Special Educational Needs (SEN).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

I decided to become a\u00a0SEN Professional<\/u>\u00a0for teaching individual music lessons in PIANO and SINGING.<\/strong>\u00a0In 2018 I\u00a0took online courses on\u00a0Autism, ADHD, <\/u>and Dyslexia<\/u>\u00a0at\u00a0EduCare<\/strong>. In 2019 I took an online course for\u00a0Special Educational Needs\u00a0<\/u>at the\u00a0International Open Academy<\/strong>.<\/p>

Through my experience working with these students, I developed techniques and I am able to adjust my approach to find the best way to make you or your child able to learn how to play the piano or sing the song of the heart.\u00a0<\/p>

An 8 year-old talented piano student with\u00a0<\/em>attention challenges<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>struggled to concentrate during our lessons. She was easily distracted by noise or movements from outside of the room. Also, at home she lost her attention easily and practising was difficult. As she was preparing for a grade exam and needed to learn exercises and songs by practicing at home effectively,\u00a0I gave her specific exercises to strengthen her concentration and also asked her parents to help with them. After 5-6 weeks of practicing the exercises she was able to play through her pieces and perform the technical requirements with much less difficulty. She completed her grade exam 1 with high results.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A 9 year-old piano student who was strongly influenced by <\/em>music, was\u00a0<\/em>playing the piano with his 6 fingers only<\/em><\/strong>, not using his ring- and little fingers on either of his hands.\u00a0Playing in this way, he got stuck at a level and was struggling to be able to play songs he likes very much, so\u00a0I invented an exercise specifically for his needs and interests to stimulate the unused fingers.\u00a0Within 3 weeks he was able to play exercises with those fingers and within 6 weeks he was using those fingers while playing his favorite songs.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A 7 year-old piano student had\u00a0<\/em>problem with sitting still at the piano<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>for more than 1 minute, and he liked games very much. I introduced him a structured lesson plan in which he got the possibility to choose a reward or some time out after every one of his great efforts. In this way my student gained technics and repertoire while having lots of fun.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A 10 year-old student was\u00a0<\/em>struggling to engage with his private music lessons from the beginning<\/em><\/strong>, he usually needed 10 minutes to get used to the change of environment and activity. I discussed the situation with his parents and agreed how to prepare him for the transition which helped him to be present at the lesson after 1-2 minutes. We started and closed the lesson with the same exercise which gave him a boost in feeling safe and helped him become more focused on the music lesson.\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
